State Ammo Shipping Rules
Ammunition shipping rules vary by state and sometimes by city, county, or local jurisdiction. BulkAmmoShipping.com reviews ammunition orders based on the shipping address, product type, customer eligibility, documentation requirements, and carrier availability.
Some states allow eligible customers to receive ammunition shipments with minimal extra documentation. Other states require identification, permits, background checks, licensed vendor transfer, or additional verification before ammunition can be delivered.
States Where We Do Not Currently Ship Ammunition
BulkAmmoShipping.com does not currently ship ammunition orders to Alaska, Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, New York City, or Chicago. We also do not ship to any address where ammunition shipment is prohibited, unsupported by our carrier process, or restricted beyond our current compliance capabilities.
States That May Require Additional Review
Orders shipping to certain states may require documentation or review before shipment. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Illinois: Illinois residents generally need a valid FOID card or other qualifying authorization to possess ammunition.
- New Jersey: Ammunition orders may require purchaser identification, documentation, and/or review depending on the ammunition type and applicable rules.
- Connecticut: Connecticut ammunition purchases may require a qualifying permit, certificate, or ammunition certificate.
- Rhode Island: Rhode Island ammunition purchases may require qualifying documentation such as a blue card, hunter education card, or other accepted credential.
- New York State: New York has additional ammunition sale and transfer requirements. Direct-to-consumer shipment may not be available unless a compliant transfer process is supported.
If your order requires additional verification, BulkAmmoShipping.com may contact you before shipment. Orders cannot be released until any required review is complete.
California Ammunition Orders
BulkAmmoShipping.com does not currently ship ammunition orders to California. California has added ammunition sale, background check, vendor-transfer, and delivery requirements. Because of those added requirements, California orders are not currently supported through our standard checkout process.
New York Ammunition Orders
BulkAmmoShipping.com does not currently offer direct-to-consumer ammunition shipment to New York City. New York State orders may also be restricted or unavailable depending on current law, transfer requirements, seller registration rules, and whether a compliant delivery process is available.
Local Restrictions Matter
Even if your state generally allows ammunition shipments, your city or county may have additional restrictions. Customers are responsible for checking local rules before ordering. BulkAmmoShipping.com may cancel or hold any order if the shipping address appears to be restricted or unsupported.

State ammunition laws change over time. Carrier rules can also change. BulkAmmoShipping.com may update this page, change the states we serve, add documentation requirements, or stop accepting orders from certain locations without prior notice.
