Ammo Shipping Restrictions

BulkAmmoShipping.com ships eligible ammunition only where lawful, supported by our carrier network, and permitted under applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Ammunition is a regulated product, so every order must pass basic compliance review before it can be released for shipment.

Our goal is simple: make ammunition ordering clear, responsible, and compliance-first. If an order cannot be lawfully or reliably shipped to the address provided, the order may be held, canceled, refunded, or reviewed for additional documentation before fulfillment.

How Ammunition Ships

Eligible ammunition orders generally ship by approved ground service. Ammunition is not handled like ordinary mail or general merchandise. Qualifying small arms ammunition must be packaged, marked, labeled, and transported according to the carrier’s ammunition and hazardous materials requirements.

BulkAmmoShipping.com does not ship live ammunition through USPS. Ammunition orders must move through approved private-carrier channels that support qualifying ammunition shipments.

What Type Of Ammunition Can Ship?

Most consumer ammunition orders involve small arms cartridges such as rifle ammunition, handgun ammunition, or shotgun shells. When the ammunition qualifies under the carrier’s Limited Quantity rules, it may be eligible for ground shipment.

Not every product qualifies. Loose powder, primers, explosive components, unclassified hazardous materials, restricted ammunition, or ammunition that falls outside carrier limits may be unavailable for shipment through BulkAmmoShipping.com.

Package Limits And Carrier Requirements

Qualifying ammunition shipments must stay within carrier limits. For UPS Limited Quantity small arms ammunition shipments, the package limit is 66 pounds / 30 kilograms. Eligible ammunition also cannot be packaged in the same box with a firearm.

BulkAmmoShipping.com may split, hold, revise, or cancel an order if the shipment cannot be prepared within applicable carrier rules.

Locations We Do Not Currently Ship To

BulkAmmoShipping.com does not currently ship ammunition orders to:

  • Alaska
  • Hawaii
  • California
  • Massachusetts
  • New York City
  • Chicago
  • Any location where ammunition shipment is prohibited, unsupported, or restricted beyond our current compliance process

Additional state, city, county, or local restrictions may apply. Some locations may require documentation, permit information, licensed vendor transfer, background check processing, or other review before an order can move forward.

Documentation-Required And Review-Required Orders

Certain destinations may require additional documentation before ammunition can be shipped. This may include a firearms owner identification card, ammunition certificate, firearms purchaser identification card, state permit, license, eligible transfer location, or other compliance documentation.

Orders shipping to states such as Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York State, or other restricted or review-required locations may be held until the required information is received and approved. In some cases, shipment may not be available even if documentation is provided.

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for confirming that they can legally buy, receive, possess, and use ammunition at the shipping address provided. By placing an order, you confirm that you are not prohibited from purchasing ammunition and that receiving ammunition at your selected address does not violate any applicable law or regulation.
